Street Maintenance Worker
General Information
- Starting Wage: $22.98 per hour non-exempt
- Full Time

- Anticipated start date is July 2023.
Job Duties
This laborer position performs street and storm sewer repair and maintenance work, snow and ice control, and maintains the flood control systems.
- Assists laying asphalt overlays and spreading seal coating on streets.
- Patches streets, parking lots, and alleys with bituminous material.
- Cleans basins and grates in the storm sewers.
- Raises manholes.
- Operates heavy equipment when assigned.
- Maintains dikes, flood walls, and storm water pumping stations and appurtenances.
- Participates in training program to learn all the skills needed in the department and become an equipment operator, in the department assigned.
- Cuts brush, sprays weeds, digs ditches, cleans vehicles, and performs related work as required.
- Operates all equipment used for snow and ice removal on streets and parking lots.
- Paints and repairs equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- One (1) year of street or road maintenance experience
- Have or be willing to obtain a class B commercial driver’s license with air break and tanker endorsement within six months of hire
