Elon University is seeking an innovative and visionary leader with significant academic and administrative experience and accomplishments to lead Elon College, the College of Arts & Sciences.

As the university's largest academic division, Elon College enrolls 3,000 undergraduates, with more than 280 full-time faculty teaching in 21 academic departments, numerous interdisciplinary programs and more than 45 majors and 55 minors. The dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the College, reporting directly to the provost and vice president of academic affairs.

Approximately 42 percent of Elon undergraduate students have at least one major in the College and all students benefit as they deepen their knowledge of the liberal arts and sciences through the Elon Core curriculum. Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious honor society in higher education, installed a chapter at Elon University in 2010.

Among the many programs of excellence in Elon College are the Center for the Study of Religion, Culture and Society; the Program for Ethnographic Research & Community Studies; the Center for Environmental Studies, which includes research in the Elon University Forest and the Environmental Center at Loy Farm; and nationally recognized programs in the performing arts, music and fine arts.

The engineering major has shown strong enrollment growth since launching in 2018. Elon received ABET accreditation in August 2022, the same month that the engineering and physics departments moved into Founders Hall and Innovation Hall, the first two buildings in Elon's Innovation Quad.

Elon University is widely recognized as a leader in experiential learning, with a strong commitment to mentoring and student success. Elon is ranked #1 in the nation for excellence in undergraduate teaching, first-year experiences and learning communities byU.S. News & World Report and #13 for innovation. Princeton Review annually ranks Elon among the nation's “best-run colleges” and the Institute of International Education ranks Elon among the nation's leaders in study abroad participation.

Elon is located in central North Carolina, a vibrant economic region in one of the nation's fastest growing states. The historic 690-acre campus is designated as a botanical garden and is frequently cited as one of the nation's most beautiful college environments. The university includes 480 full-time faculty members and 6,400 undergraduate and 800 graduate students from 48 states, the District of Columbia, and 54 other nations. In addition to Elon College, the other academic units include the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, the School of Communications, the Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education, the School of Health Sciences and the School of Law, located in downtown Greensboro.
