The Growth Team is responsible for supporting the department's goals of driving aggressive subscription and revenue growth, while optimizing channel expenses. This team is responsible for driving all subscription types for 200+ local Gannett markets, USA TODAY, USA TODAY Crossword and ancillary products. The Growth Team owns and manages the media expenses across multiple acquisition channels and collaborates with key internal and external departments to manage onsite assets, meter & paywall optimization strategy, checkout experiences as well as platforms and payment options to drive conversions.
The Acquisition Project Manager, Local, will be responsible for coordinating and streamlining acquisition and performance marketing efforts across channels for specific local campaigns. In collaboration with the regional growth team and the performance marketing team, the project manager is responsible for successfully and efficiently leading the coordination, planning and launch of strategic local marketing initiatives, while communicating with all stakeholders to ensure alignment across teams and channels.
Base Salary: $80-$90k/annually
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage collaborative efforts of local marketing campaigns from creation through hand off to marketing operations to continually improve customer acquisition through multiple channels for digital and print subscription including, but not limited to, direct mail, email, social media, onsite and native app
- Mitigate risk by ensuring accuracy, brand and legal compliance. This also requires the candidate to have knowledge of direct marketing tactics and trends as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, analytic abilities and problem-solving capabilities.
- Successfully facilitate the optimization of each channel and campaign using A/B and multi-variate testing (ad copy, creative and format, offer, list targeting, calls to action, landing pages, etc.).
- Lead collaboration efforts with the acquisition channel leads and cross functional teams including, the regional growth team, marketing operations partners, product partners, enterprise data management team and the creative/campaign deployment partner to achieve sales objectives.
- Communicate in a timely and effective manner with all stakeholders across the local network campaign plans, deadlines, status updates and respective campaign/channel reporting. Work with all stakeholders to integrate the successful test strategies into the standard control campaigns efficiently ensuring optimal response rates across channels.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders at warp speed with a keen eye and attention to detail in a deadline driven environment is essential for the Project Manager to successfully execute campaigns on time and within budget that produce results.
Qualifications
- Microsoft Office Suite with strong focus on Excel experience, campaign data management, troubleshooting, problem solving, presentation skills, analytical ability, interpersonal skills including written and verbal, ability to work independently, ability to meet deadlines
- 4+ years of direct response marketing, including multi-variate testing, with specific experience in offline and/or online channels.
- Above average project management skills are essential with strong communication, troubleshooting, organizational and time-management abilities.
- Detail-oriented and analytical but also able to see the big picture and be proactive in making quick, effective decisions in a fast-paced environment with favorable outcomes.
- Must possess a positive, can-do attitude and collaborative ability. Demonstrated disposition to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $51,300 and $120,750. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
