Candidates are expected to have a record of publications and/or of produced and exhibited work. Candidate pluses include being conversant in entertainment law, internet culture, emerging media,and film history. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate familiarity with coding and with emerging technologies that are currently changing the practice of visual storytelling. Familiarity with film studies, filmmaking, screenwriting, and producing are also a candidate plus.
The successful applicant will:
The successful candidate must have a Master of Fine Arts or other terminal degree combined with a record of equivalent active creative practice. The candidate should have scholarly and/or cinematic achievement appropriate to rank, experience in college teaching, and a strong commitment to working with and inspiring an ethnically and culturally diverse student population.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Candidates with a record of publications and/or of produced and exhibited work may be given preference. Candidate preferences include being conversant in entertainment law, internet culture, emerging media, and film history. Candidates with demonstrated familiarity with coding and with emerging technologies that are currently changing the practice of visual storytelling are preferred. - Teach gateway and core curriculum in 2D/3D animation and cinematic arts
- Teach theory and practice in Interactive media, VFX, and game design
- Teach illustration, story boarding, and graphic comics techniques
- Teach emerging media techniques and practice for immersive storytelling and simulations
- Teach film art history and culture and business entertainment law
- Collaborate with faculty and admin to develop strategies for partnerships with industry
- Guide cost-effective equipment and tech acquisition for applied lab, studio, and field practice
- Develop curriculum and evolve pedagogy to best prepare students for a dynamic industry.
