Job Description
The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training exists across two campuses, Flagstaff Mountain Campus and Phoenix Biomedical Campus. Although this position will be physically located at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC), some of the work this position will complete will impact the entire department. This position will provide campus-specific support to the Masters in Science and Athletic Training (MSAT) and Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) programs. These programs are year-round, full-time, residential graduate programs with 225 graduate students who are supported by 14 full-time faculty, 18 adjunct/part-time faculty.
Program Coordination & Outreach - 40%
- Facilitate communication between PBC Program Directors for assigned graduate-level programs. Collaborate with Program Directors on the dual-degree program.
- Organize and support formal and written documentation related to assigned programs' student professional/behavioral plans for both didactic and clinical education components of the curriculum.
- Support student and post-professional programs through Learning Management System integration with graduate program goals.
- Assist department PBC department directors, faculty, and students with identifying, developing, and implementing community-based programs in the Phoenix-metro area
- Liaise on behalf of the department (and PBC programs) to all other units in the College of Health & Human Services and other university programs.
- Collaborate and communicate with the Assistant Director of Clinical Placements.
- Assist department faculty with coordinating and communicating with adjunct, associate, and/or clinical faculty who participate in
- Residential graduate program course instruction
- Hybrid graduate program course instruction
- Community partnership programs
Operations & Administration - 25%
- Completing hiring paperwork with NAU service teams to onboard and offboard part time faculty, staff, students as needed for all programs and both campuses.
- Serve as the point of contact for external (to the department) customer service inquiries. Monitor program-specific email lists. Provide excellent customer service in person, virtually, and over the phone.
- Facilitate communication among department administrators, faculty, staff and students.
- Prepare, organize and disseminate meeting agendas and minutes for assigned programs.
- Coordinate commencement activities for assigned programs at both campuses.
- Complete administrative tasks for program participants within the policies and procedures required by the NAU Graduate College or program accreditors.
- Create meeting schedules and reserve spaces as required.
- Establish, maintain, process and update files, records, certificates, invoices, reports and/or other documents important for departmental operations. Files can be digital or physical copies.
- Order and maintain supplies required for class instruction and scholarship for assigned programs.
- Supervise student employees assigned to the unit. Supervision includes assigning tasks, scheduling, and monitoring/correcting performance.
- Arrange guest and adjunct faculty parking for the PBC campus.
Data Analytics, Assessment & Reporting - 15%
- Develop, organize and maintain outcomes, data, and metrics related to MSAT and DPT program outcome assessments; written and practical assessment outcomes; and community partnerships.
- Produce and disseminate routine and one-off program and student-specific reports requested by department leadership. Routine reporting includes topics such as: accreditation, academic standing, degree progression, etc.
- Develop and maintain an electronic database for all course outcome data for assigned programs.
Course Scheduling - 10%
- Create course schedules in accordance with the departmental master calendar.
- Reserve spaces in accordance with operating procedures at the PBC campus.
- Modify course schedules as needed and inform supervisor of needed support.
Financial & Travel Oversight - 5%
- Execute and complete financial transactions on behalf of the department (both campuses. This could include working with the NAU Service Teams to complete purchasing requests or using a purchasing card to do so.
- Process conference registration, travel arrangements, and reimbursement for department faculty and all enrolled students for department programs.
Other- 5%
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or field appropriate to work unit.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- A combination of related education, experience and training my be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with administrative support in higher education.
- Experience with database management.

Salary
Salary range begins at $47,634. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.
